Biography:
Davide Astiaso Garcia is Secretary General of ANEV, the trade association of the wind sector that brings together about 100 companies and over 5,000 subjects including technicians, operators, electrical traders and developers. He is also Professor of Technical Physics at the Sapienza University of Rome. The research areas he works on focus on the energy transition, with particular reference to the use of renewable energy sources, primarily onshore and offshore wind energy, but also the development of energy scenarios for the decarbonisation of pilot areas. at different scales (single building, urban areas, remote areas, geographical islands), considering the availability of local sources, storage systems and network flexibility. He is involved as Project Coordinator or Principal Investigar in numerous research projects funded by the European Commission and is an expert of the European Commission Research Executive Agency (REA) for the evaluation of research project proposals for the calls "H2020 FET OPEN - Future Emerging Technologies" and Horizon Europe Pathfinder Open. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications (H index 25).
