As the third day of the GECO Expo unfolds, we would like to introduce the agenda for the fourth and final day, tomorrow, March 4th.

The importance of adopting a circular economic model is being increasingly recognised across Europe. Raw materials are becoming scarce and it is becoming imperative to increase the life cycle of goods and resources. In this respect, the NRP - Next Generation EU is crucial, as it guarantees financial means to facilitate the ecological transition. In this round table we will talk about circular economy and circular design of examples of competitive techniques to promote the reuse of raw materials. The importance of adopting a circular economic model is being increasingly recognised across Europe. It is impossible to talk about sustainability on a global scale without talking about economic models. In this green talk, Prof Pier Luigi Belvisi of the University of International Studies in Rome - UNINT will compare different perspectives, starting from a historical and cross-cutting analysis of the interactions between economics and the environment. The aim is to provide as realistic and complete a picture as possible of the challenges that await us in the reorganisation of society according to criteria of environmental and social sustainability, which envisage a complete restructuring of the relationship between the State, citizens and businesses.
Time: 11:15 – 12:45
The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world, responsible for 10% of global annual emissions. As part of the effort to make this industry sustainable, there is increasing talk of extending the life of textile products and materials, as well as optimising many aspects of the supply chain. Fast fashion, of course, has only contributed to this sector's emissions, while trends in the opposite direction have struggled to get traction and still have plenty of room for improvement. In this round table, we will present best practices and positive examples of sustainability and circularity in the textile and fashion industry.
This debate too will be moderated by Angelo Spina, managing partner of Proserpina BS Srl Soc. Benefit. The speakers will be Susanna Galli, sustainability & intangibles director for Diadora S.p.A, Valeria Battel, journalist and lecturer at NABA-Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, and Enrica Arena, CEO and co-founder of Orange Fiber s.r.l.
Time: 14:15 - 15:15
Open innovation has been discussed for a long time: now companies are also considering it from the point of view of sustainability. This practice makes room for young innovators, including students, and at the same time allows companies to move forward with creative and effective solutions. We discuss this in partnership with Almacube.
Francesco D'Onghia, head of open innovation unit at Almacube, will moderate the round table. Speakers: Piero Ingrosso, vice-president - head of innovation & communication of AlmaVicoo - Legacoop Bologna, and Simone Chiesi, innovation manager of Credem.
Time: 15:30 – 17:30
